There are lots of fun things to do in Etobicoke this weekend for all the family. Check out our top ten picks and decide which ones you think you’ll enjoy!
1. Love Fest at Black Oak Brewery

Cost: $10 in advance, $15 at the door
One of our local breweries has been busy cooking up a new brew and they’re all set to launch. Love Fest is an event being held to celebrate the release of Love Buzz, a moderately hopped, full-bodied ale. There will be live music from Josh Gabriel, lots of good food, and of course samples of Love Buzz and other award-winning brews. Advance tickets for this event are available through Eventbrite.
2. Kingsway-Lambton Art Show and Sale

Where: Kingsway-Lambton United Church, 85 The Kingsway, Etobicoke, ON M8X 2T6
For all the art-lovers among you, this charity fundraiser is in its twentieth year, and is definitely worth a look. Work from over 30 Canadian artists will be on display and for sale. You never know, you might find the perfect piece to add to your collection.
3. 15th Annual Out of the Cold Art Show

Where: All Saint’s Kingsway Church, 2850 Bloor W, Toronto, ON M8X 1B2
While you’re at it, you can also check out the art for sale at the Out of the Cold Art Show. Every week since November, artists and guests have been working to produce beautiful original pieces to showcase during this sale. Each unframed painting will be on sale for just $25 a piece!
4. Chess Club at Eatonville Library

Where: Eatonville Library, 430 Burnhamthorpe Rd, Etobicoke, ON M9B 2B1
For the love of chess! This chess club is hosted weekly at Eatonville Library and is open to any age from five and up. This drop-in session gives you the opportunity to play against friends or challenge a new opponent. No registration is required.
5. Adult Coloring at Humber Bay Library

Where: Humber Bay Library, 200 Park Lawn Rd, Etobicoke, ON M8Y 3J1
Coloring doesn’t have to be limited to kids and can be an excellent way to invite creativity and relieve stress. If that sounds like something you’d like you can head on over to Humber Bay Library this Friday and join the adult coloring class. This is a relaxed drop-in event and materials will be provided.
6. Bloordale United Mammoth Rummage Sale

Who doesn’t love a good rummage sale!? You never know what treasures you might find at Bloordale United Church this Saturday. Explore everything from collectibles and furniture to toys and sporting goods. If you have items to donate, check out the website for instructions.
7. Family Games Night at Jean Augustine Centre

The Jean Augustine Centre for Young Women’s Empowerment was founded in 2014 and offers a wonderful set of programs for girls, women, and families. The Family Games Night is held every last Friday of the month and is always a big hit. Spend time with friends and family while enjoying games, snacks, and drinks!
8. Table Tennis at Islington Seniors’ Centre

Cost: $1 (membership required)
There is always something fun happening at Islington Seniors’ Centre. Among the myriad of weekly activities are several fitness-based sessions, including table tennis. This two hour session is held on Wednesdays and Fridays and gets you socializing while keeping fit.
9. Don Vickery Trio at Old Mill

If you’re a jazz lover, the Home Smith Bar at Old Mill offers up a great atmosphere to take in some of the best entertainers on today’s scene. This Saturday, you can take in the sounds of drummer Don Vickery, a founding member of the Canadian Jazz Quartet. Don will be joined by Mark Eisenman on piano and Neil Swainson on bass.
10. Toronto Ward Museum’s Dishing Up Toronto

Cost: $25
This event celebrates the tradition of people coming together to break bread as they did centuries ago. With all of the community happenings at Montgomery’s Inn, including farmer’s markets, volunteer projects, and education programs, that tradition remains strong today. This event will involve an exhibition, stories from the past, and breaking breads from around the world made from local Ontario farmers’ ingredients.
