Nonetheless, there are plenty of reasons to get outside and enjoy the sunshine. In Etobicoke, there is always tons going on, indoors and out. In this post, we reveal our top picks for fun things to do in Etobicoke in June. Let’s go!

1. Black Oak Beer Yoga

When: Saturday, June 2nd, 11am – 12:30pm

Where: Black Oak Brewery, 75 Horner Ave, Etobicoke, ON M8Z 4X5

Cost: $25 – 35

Love beer. Check. Love yoga. Check. Yes, you can combine two wonderful things at the Black Oak Beer Yoga event by Calmunity Yoga. Take an hour-long class while sipping a pint of delicious brew. Grab your tickets at Eventbrite.

2. Annual June BBQ at Horner Ave Senior Centre

When: Friday, June 1st, 12:30pm – 3pm

Where: Horner Avenue Senior Centre, 320 Horner Ave, Etobicoke, ON M8W 1Z3

Cost: $8 – 10

It’s that time of year again for the annual Horner Avenue Senior Centre BBQ. It promises to be a fun-filled afternoon of entertainment and yummy grub. Members pay $8, but it’s also open to non-members who can pay $10.

3. Great Lakes Brewery Annual BBQ

When: Saturday, June 16th, 12pm – 5pm

Where: Great Lakes Brewery, 30 Queen Elizabeth Blvd, Etobicoke, ON M8Z 1L8

Another tasty event will be happening a couple of weeks later at Great Lakes Brewery as it holds its annual charity BBQ in support of Franklin Horner Community Centre. There’ll be live music from The Fool Hearts, a kids zone including face painting, fantastic food, a beer garden, and more!

4. Porch View Dances

When: Saturday, June 2nd, 2pm

Where: Fourth Street Parkette, 19 Fourth, Toronto, Ontario M8V 2Y2

Cost: Pay-What-You-Can

Porch View Dances: People Dancing in Real Spaces is a wonderful initiative comprising a community dance event. Local families perform choreographed dances on their porches and delight tour participants. At the end, everyone gets to join in a group dance.

5. A Little Like Magic at Famous People Players

Where: Famous People Players, 343 Evans Ave, Toronto, ON M8Z 1K2

Black light theatres aren’t just for Vegas. Did you know we have our very own right here in Etobicoke. Famous People Players is just wrapping up its Pop & Rock Show and is about to launch into A Little Like Magic. This version of Broadway’s A Backlight Musical Fantasy will wow audiences members of all ages.

6. Walk ‘n Roll Fest for Healthy Families

When: Sunday, June 10th, 9am onwards

Where: Woodbine Racetrack, 555 Rexdale Blvd, Toronto, ON M9W 5L2

The Osler Foundation Walk ‘n Roll Fest for Healthy Families will be raising money to help support the redevelopment of Etobicoke General Hospital. Aside from offering the chance to help a great cause, this promises to be a fun family day out.

7. Etobicoke Centennial Choir Final Concert of the Season

Where: Humber Valley United Church, 76 Anglesey Blvd, Etobicoke, ON M9A 3C1

Cost: $25

This is the third and final concert in the Etobicoke Centennial Choir’s 2017 – 2018 season. Entitled, Oh Canada, this showcase will include pieces from Canadian composers and arrangers. Aside from listening to the angelic voices of the choir, you’re also get to hear harpist Angel Schwarzkopf accompany them in select parts of the performance.

8. Soldiers and Spies at Black Creek Pioneer Village

When: Saturday & Sunday, June 16th – 17th, 11am – 5pm,

Where: Black Creek Pioneer Village, 1000 Murray Ross Pkwy, North York, ON M3J 2P3

Cost: Free – $15

Let the battle of Black Creek begin! This 18th century battle reenactment will delight adults and kids alike. There’ll be a chance to track a Yankee spy, watch a musket demo, march in the Mini Militia, try your luck in the Rubber Band Shooting Gallery, and more.

9. The Dining Room at Theatre Etobicoke

When: Thursday, May 31st – Sunday, June 3rd, times vary

Where: The Assembly Hall Theatre, 1 Colonel Samuel Smith Park Dr, Etobicoke, ON M8V 4B6

Cost: $20 -25

Theatre Etobicoke is back with a four-day performance, so don’t miss out. The Dining Room by A.R. Gurney is tells the witty and compassionate tale of an upper middle-class family. A mosaic of dining room scenes are woven together in this humorous yet thought-provoking play.

10. Father’s Day Buffet at Old Mill

Cost: Free – $40.95

If you’re wondering how to spoil all those great fathers out there this Father’s Day, what better way than filling their bellies with some delicious food. You could take a walk in one of the local parks and then head to Old Mill for a special buffet brunch or dinner.
