The Low Down on Etobicoke Smoke-Free Condos

Are you looking for an Etobicoke smoke-free condo where smoking of tobacco and cannabis is NOT allowed anywhere on the condominium property, including the units?

We get it, many non-smokers would prefer to live in a building where they don’t have to deal with smoking. The good news is that totally smoke- fee condos do exist.  All condo buildings must keep the common areas in their building smoke-free. Some condos have taken it a step further and don’t allow smoking anywhere in their buildings including individual condo and units and balconies. 

What does the Ontario law say?

Currently, under the Smoke-Free Ontario Act, smoking is prohibited “in any common area in a condominium” including foyers, elevators, stairwells, exercise rooms, party rooms, parking garages and corridors. This legislation does not apply to the individual condo unit balconies or the outdoor common elements. It’s up to each individual condominium corporation to prohibit smoking in the units, the outdoor common elements.
