BUILDING DESCRIPTION
9 Valhalla Inn Road was once the location of a very popular Valhalla Inn Hotel. Edilcan Development paid homage to the area’s history when designing the Triumph at Valhalla Condos: the developers held onto some original artifacts from the old Valhalla Inn and incorporated them into the new tower.
Completed in 2016, Edilcan’s soaring glass tower reaches to 29 storeys and contains 298 condos. Amenities offered to those living at 9 Valhalla Inn Road include a gym, sauna, rooftop terrace with barbecues, party room, and guest suites. Once the weather starts to turn and swimming outdoors is no longer an option, residents can get their fix by swimming in the building’s indoor pool. The building is also staffed by a concierge, and residents can use the Valhalla Express shuttle to reach shopping destinations in the neighbourhood as well as subway stations.
The Suites
Prospective residents can expect to find a variety of units that range from approximately 500 to around 1,200 square feet. Etobicoke condos for sale and rent in the building contain one, two, or three bedrooms, and some feature dens as well.
In terms of interior design, the Triumph at Valhalla has everyone one can expect of a 21st-century condo. Kitchens, for example, are outfitted with granite or quartz countertops and Energy Star appliances. Laminate flooring, floor-to-ceiling, wall-to-wall windows, and stacked Energy Star washer and dryers can also be found throughout the building. Some units even contain more outdoor space than indoor — perfect for anyone who enjoys gardening, barbecuing, or hosting dinner parties under the stars.
The Neighbourhood
There’s a lot going on in Islington and City Centre West — in fact, this neighbourhood happens to be one of the four central business districts located outside of the downtown core. Residents living at 9 Valhalla Inn Road can get their shopping done at the Loblaws just north on the East Mall. This enormous grocery store is just 700 metres away from the Triumph at Valhalla, or a 3-minute drive. Living so close to Cloverdale Mall also comes in handy for residents, who can find an LCBO, a Metro, a Home Hardware, and many other speciality shops here.
As for those who prefer to spend their spare time in the great outdoors, Centennial Park is more than just a convenient choice. Beyond the standard picnic spots and trails, this massive green space is also home to a BMX track, a ski hill (on top of a former dump), a golf course, and an indoor sports facility known as the Etobicoke Olympium. Once a dairy farm, Centennial Park was created in celebration of Canada’s 100th birthday.
Transportation
Travelling to and from 9 Valhalla Inn Road is a breeze, whether residents prefer to use public transit or cars of their own. The former group can reach Kipling Station on the Bloor-Danforth subway line in around 15 minutes by using the 111 East Mall bus. Once at the station, passengers can hop onto trans heading east toward downtown Toronto.
Drivers, on the other hand, will love living so close to the 427, a major north-south highway that provides access to the 401 to the north and the Gardiner Expressway to the south. The Gardiner is ideal for anyone heading into the city centre, while the 427 can also be used to reach Pearson International Airport in no time.
