There are so many fantastic businesses in Etobicoke to try. Find out where we’ve been this month!
Each month, we visit one of the wonderful businesses in Etobicoke and bring you the lowdown on what they have to offer. This month, we had the pleasure of dropping in to visit Dan at The Village Candlemaker, a super cute store in Alderwood. Offering beautifully fragrant candles handcrafted on-site, this is the perfect place to finish your Christmas shopping or purchase gifts throughout the year.
In this post, we shine the spotlight on The Village Candlemaker and share our experience visiting this awesome local business.
The Village Candlemaker Store
When you walk into The Village Candlemaker store, you immediately know you’re in for a great experience. It has a cute, quaint feel and is extremely well-presented, complete with gallery-style product displays, plush leather chairs, and of course the aroma of delicate fragrances and essential oils.
This could easily pass for an expensive boutique store downtown. Indeed you’ll find unique, quality products, but you’ll also find warm and friendly service and very reasonable prices.
We got to meet “Dan the Candleman,” who co-owns the store with Linda. Dan is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and proud of the business they have created. He showed us around and described some of the gorgeous products they have to offer.
The Wonderful Products
They have over 100 variations of candles to choose from. They are 100% soy, clean-burning, and soot-free. There are so many heavenly fragrances to decide between, including unique blends of black tea with lychee and Asian pear with lily. Or you might opt for healing essential oils like lavender, lemongrass, or peppermint. Ahh…
The soy candles are environmentally friendly and burn longer than regular candles, up to 200 hours in some containers. You can even select your candle holder and fragrance and they will make your custom gift there and then! That’s because all candles are hand poured on-site.
Aside from candle gifts, the store offers other unique items. Their melts are a huge hit, and you can also shop for Christmas décor and gift baskets, hostess gifts, and more.
The Village Candlemaker hasn’t been around for long, but it has already become a popular spot with the locals, and for good reason. If you love candles, you’ll love The Village Candlemaker!
It’s so great to have your fantastic business be a part of our neighbourhood Dan and Linda; we’ll be seeing you again very soon. From your ThompsonSells team!
