Buying a home is an emotional purchase. Most people can’t describe why they fall in love with a particular house. It just happens. They know when they walk through the door that this is the one.
What is Home Staging?
Home Staging is the act of preparing a home for sale.
It often starts with decluttering, clearing all surfaces and removing unnecessary furniture. Once the decluttering is complete, new furniture, artwork, carpets, bedding and accessories are brought in to really show off the many features of the home.
The Goal
The intent of staging is to have your home stand out, both online when buyers begin their search, and when buyers actually visit the property.
The goal is to attract the highest number of potential buyers so that your property sells quickly for more money.
Here’s a condo that we recently SOLD. Our client had partially moved out so the condo didn’t look too inviting until we gave it a new look with our staging.
How Much Does Home Staging Cost?
There are independent companies that offer home staging and it’s not cheap. They typically charge for the initial stage and then an additional fee for each month that the staging accessories are left in the home. The costs will vary based on the size of your home and how long you required your home to be staged. The cost can run you anywhere from $2000 – $10,000.
